I want to thank my mom and dad because of everything they do, everything they are, everything they make me want to be. They have both made huge sacrifices for me and my brothers, and they still continue to.

They were both living great lives in Sri Lanka, but decided to immigrate to Canada so that my brothers and I could have a better chance at a great education. They left their families and friends to come to a new country, for us. They then began to work countless jobs and hours to earn money for us. Early morning shifts, late nights, and everything in between. And all through it, they still had time to be with their children and keep us happy. The first few years when we were in Canada, we had troubles with money. However, did my brothers and I know? No, we didn't. My parents kept it all away from us, and still provided us with everything we needed.

To this day, I am extremely grateful to have been born in this family, with these parents. One letter can't put into words how much they mean to me and how much they have inspired me to be a better, kinder, smarter person.

Thank you to my mom for always being there, for always staying up until she's sure I got home safe, for always driving me places because I didn't have my G2 (and not complaining), for always being blunt with situations, for seeing a fake friend before I could, for all the rants, for knowing who I liked before I even said anything, for always cooking us food, for always coming to me for fashion advice, and so much more.

Thank you to my dad for always being there, for spoiling me, for buying me clothes when I had no idea, for listening to me over everyone else, for all the jokes, for teaching me how to drive, for the laughs, for being awkward with emotions together, for appreciating food together, for looking like brother and sister, for always doing everyone's laundry, for always cleaning the house, for giving us more love than we deserve, and so much more.

Thank you to both my mom and dad for everything. Thank you for being friends with my friends, thank you for listening, thank you for being both lenient and strict, thank you for giving me money whenever I needed to go out, and never asking for it back, thank you for always being on my side no matter what, thank you for letting me have all the opportunities I can, for being my best friends, for going places you didn't want to; but my brothers and I did, for driving us to school, soccer, basketball, tutoring and more, for teaching me that giving is receiving and to be grateful for everything you have, for showing me that being kind is always the answer, for showing me to stand up for myself, and for showing me how to love. Thank you for teaching me to be humble, and to celebrate others.

I don't deserve my mom and dad, and I don't think I ever will. I know I rarely say I love you, but I just want you to know, I do. I love you so much. Thank you for working so hard and tirelessly to make this life amazing for my brothers and I. Thank you for believing in me, and for knocking some sense into me.

You two are the most important people in my life, and I will work the rest of my life to make you guys proud, and try to give you just as much as you gave us.
