I want to thank my mom because she has raised me into the strong woman that I am today. My mom from the day I was born has taught me never to give up and always fight for what I believe in and that any of my dreams are possible. My mom as a single parent and a paramedic has always modelled determination, perseverance and the importance of family. If its coming home late from work because of a tough day or getting called into work in the wee hours of the morning to help another colleague through a difficult situation she always reminds me that I am her number one priority and reminds me that she will come home safe at the end of the day. No matter what happens throughout the day she will still come home with a smile on her face a give me a hug as she walks through the door. As busy as she is with having to take care of the house and my dog sky and myself she will always make sure I have what I need for school or for my extracurricular activities. Thank you for going into work earlier to make sure you can get off work earlier to come cheer me on at my soccer games. You are always my number one fan on and off the field always being there to cheer me on in whatever I do in life, and if i fall you are always there to catch me. Mom when you got sick it was the scariest time in my life. The doctors didn't know what was wrong and you told me everyday that you were going to be okay no matter what was wrong. Your famous lines were "there's nothing that the two of us can't do." When you were in the hospital I had a big responsibility to fill and I had no idea the amount of work that you truly do, you make it look so easy and you always have a smile on your face while doing it. Mom you are the strongest person that I know, one day when I am a mother I hope to be half the mother that you are because no matter what I do or how hard I try I will never be able to fill your shoes. You are one amazing woman and thank you for always being there for me and mom, once again you were right "there's nothing that the two of us can't do."
