I want to thank my mom because she is the most inspirational person in my life. She has been through so much over the years, yet she puts everyone else above herself. In 2012 she had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital to undergo surgery, luckily she pushed through it however, her life has not been the same since, she has been remitted to the hospital on various occasions for further heart problems, lung failures, kidney leisons, and various other illnesses. She currently is prescribed over 12 medications. It saddens me to see her not being able to go to work or have real quality of life, she can't go out with friends or spend as much time out of the house as she used to be able to. She is now waiting to hear back about a date for heart valve replacement surgery and I know she is feeling down, stressed and scared being home alone the way she is during the day. I have also moved from Ottawa to Oakville away from her for school and I just want to be able to give back to her especially since I am not around as much anymore. Growing up she gave me the world, even when she was a single parent, she took on overtime and extra shifts to make ends meet and to make sure I always had the things I needed even if she did not. She now helps me with bill payments, rent, and groceries. whenever I visit home she gets me new clothing, food to take back with me and makeup products to help further my career as a Sheridan College graduate, makeup artist. I know she doesn't really have the money to do the things she does and it hurts me to see her give so much to everyone else when shes wearing the same old clothes, feeling ill and depressed and living in the same small apartment we lived in for the last 20 years. She is an amazing women who pushes through all these difficult times and keeps a smile on her face for everyone else. I love her more than anything and would give anything to be able to give back to her for all she has done. She deserves so much recognition and appreciation for her unconditional love and support, she really is my hero and I would be lost without her.
