Becoming a parent is up there on the list of one of the toughest jobs in the world. I cannot comprehend the entirety of their responsibilities and expectations, but that does not hinder me from being beyond grateful for the ones I have. They continue to raise my siblings and me to be individuals with strong morals. Not once do they forget to show us kindness, care, and genuine happiness.

It astounds me to imagine the sacrifice they had to make working halfway across the world to provide financial aid to their respective families and to their own. I cannot imagine how terrified they must have felt navigating a foreign country with a different culture, social customs, and way of life. But they did it. They worked several different jobs to start, often having a minimal number of rest days in a month to save as much money as they can.

Not only were they strict in disciplining my siblings and I but were equally silly and humorous at appropriate times. I never forget that I am safe and loved when they are around. They’ve struggled through marriage conflicts but are going strong in their relationship today. I appreciate them through their acts of love that they provide for the family. My heart is filled with love for both of them.

Yours Truly,
