I want to thank my mum and dad because...had it not been for the sacrifices they have made, I would not be the person I am today. My parents came from countries where they had nothing going for them-- poor educational opportunities, little health care, lack of safety. They sacrificed their dreams to ensure that I would have a different upbringing. They left the places they've known their whole live and moved to a country where they had no family and barely enough money. They didn't go to University because they had to work and build up a state of life where I could go to University. They dedicated their time and energy to ensure that I would not have to worry about the family and could focus on my education and skill- development. My parents have been my number one supporters and they always will continue to be. When I want to start a new project, they are immediately on board and guide me in the path to success. When I make a mistake, they always teach me how to be a better person in the kindest way possible. My parents never leave me feeling vulnerable to the negative influences of the world. Instead they keep me strong against whatever obstacles I face. The love my parents have given me is undeniably strong and if Aliya was here, I can confidently say that she would be as proud of my parents as I am today. My parents are the most self-less, good-hearted, intelligent people you could ever come across. They respect others and try and lend a helping hand. There is only so much I could do to reward them for all they have done for me but honestly, that would not be enough because they deserve all the love the world could offer. So I want to thank you Mum and Dad. Thank you for everything.
